I was struggling with finding a preceptor for my clinicals as a FNP student. Then time was crucial, and I have tried all my friends and family connections, but no luck. With the Covid situation people are terrified to take more people inside the office and specially have a commitment for a certain period. I read posts on Facebook groups and from people recommending this company. Sean is the person who replied to my email right away the evening. Two days later he found me a preceptor not too far from where I live and who is willing to make a commitment for this fall to teach me. I have been searching for clinicals with my own networking with every single person that I know asking if they knew someone who could precept me as an FNP student. It was extremely difficult, and everyone said no due to COVID-19! I was skeptical at first about using a service to find a preceptor, but I was desperate and out of options. My back was against the wall and no help from my school and out of options. I had taken every class that I could and even sat out a semester. I contacted preceptor point just a few days ago in practical desperation for a specialty clinical site to complete my degree without having to extend my education to finish. Only 3-4 days later I have yet to secure my affiliation agreement with the preceptor, but I HAVE A PRECEPTOR. Prompt and respectful service that made this process easy and stress free. While it is understandable that some clinics and health care facilities does not want to accommodate students when there is an infection outbreak, Eric at preceptor point made the intricate job smooth.
